Important Point to Determine Domain Authority score by Moz

So how exactly does Moz determine your Domain Authority score?
It uses over 40 different factors, but the following are some of the most important:
  • Linking Root Domains – This is the number of unique backlinks your website has earned. So if it has obtained 20 external links from two different websites, then you’ve only had two linking root domains. Earning a few links from different websites will boost your ranking more than earning many links from the same website.
  • MozRank – MozRank is the metric used to score the strength of your website’s external links. It takes into account not just the number of links that are pointing back to your site, but also the quality of those links. Quality tends to beat quantity, which means that one good external link is better to have than two low-quality links. MozRank uses a 0-10 scale (with 10 being the highest). The average MozRank rating for a website is a 3.
  • MozTrust – Like MozRank, MozTrust is a metric used to help determine the quality of your external links. However, it’s a little more specific in that it measures how closely your website is connected to trusted websites. Trusted websites are .edu or .gov sites. Even if a .edu or .gov site links to a site that then links to you, it’s considered a sign of trust that helps increase your MozTrustrating, which is also based on a 0-10 rating.
  • Quality Content – Content is one of the main factors on which a website’s search engine ranking is based on, so it should come as no surprise that the quality of your website’s content is a factor in determining its domain authority. While domain authority may help improve your search engine ranking, it also correlates closely with it.
  • Social Signals – Google uses social signals as one of the main factors in identifying good quality content. For example, it’s safe to assume that a piece of content that is shared, liked and commented on hundreds of times must be of some quality. Moz uses the same social signals in determining domain authority.
  • Search Engine Friendliness – This refers to the use of SEO as well as to the site structure and user-friendliness of your websiteSite structure can directly affect usability in that poor site structure makes your site difficult to navigate. It also makes it difficult for search engines to properly crawl and index your site, which can hurt your rankings. This is essential for your domain authority as well.

How Does Moz Calculate Page Authority?

The following are some of the ranking factors that Moz uses to determine page authority:
  • Social signals, such as the number of Google+1’sFacebook LikesTwitter Retweetsor LinkedIn Shares a page has received.
  • The number of root domains linking to the page.
  • The number of root domains linking to the page using partial match anchor text.
  • The number of sub domains that link to the page.
  • The number of quality websites linking to the page.
  • The number of external links a page has.

‘Hawk’ Google local algorithm update

New Google updated announced that is called as 'Hawk'. This updates came basically for local searches it is not going to affect organic google searches.

Before it, organizations that were near one another geographically and within the same industry would end up being filtered out of local results. in all probability since Google figured they may be copies. This issue most normally influenced organizations doing same business in a given region n like hotels or restaurants.

What changed?

The update, which I have dubbed “Hawk,” was a change to the way the local filter works. To get some history here, Google actively filters out listings from the local results that are similar to other listings that rank already. Basically, Google picks the most relevant listing of the bunch and filters the rest. It’s very similar to what they do organically with duplicate content. (Note: Google is typically loath to confirm algorithm updates, usually only saying that it rolls out several updates every day, so these observations are based on an analysis of how local results have changed rather than on any official announcement or acknowledgment.)

The filter has existed for a long time to help ensure that multiple listings for the same company don’t monopolize the search results. In September 2016, the Possum algorithm update made a significant change to the way the filter works. Instead of just filtering out listings that shared the same phone number or website, Google started filtering out listings that were physically located near each other.

This was very problematic for businesses. It meant that if another business in your industry was in the same building as you — or even down the street from you — that could cause you to get filtered out of local search results. Yep, that means your competitors could (inadvertently) bump your listing!

On August 22, 2017, Google refined the proximity filter to make it stricter. It still appears to be filtering out businesses in the same building, but it is not filtering out as many businesses that are close by.

What would it be advisable for me to do now?

Check these vital things for your nearby Web optimization :
  • Ensure you have an (exceptional) Google Professional reference
  • Attempt to collect positive reviews for your organization (by means of Google as well as other surely understood survey stages for your business sort)
  • Ensure all the essential Website optimization things are well managed according to google algorithm.
  • Think about including more substance (content), that is focused on your nearby market(s)/city.

To avoid this, try to keep your keyword density to roughly 2-5%. If you find this hard, get out a thesaurus and broaden your writing vocabulary. This way, you are still writing about the same thing, without risk of being banned.

Microdata Schema

microdata is one of three code languages designed to provide search-engine spider programs with information about website content and other details. Microdata is used to generate more relevant and more detailed search results. This offer website owner one more opportunity to rank website on SERP by making some changes related websites.

and are important for usability, SEO, and social sharing. The title tag of a web page is meant to be an accurate and concise description of a page's content.

Along with smart internal linking, SEOs should make sure that the category hierarchy of the given website is reflected in URLs
URLs are a minor ranking factor search engines use when determining a particular page or resource's relevance to a search query. While they do give weight to the authority of the overall domain itself, keyword use in a URL can also act as a ranking factor.

Content of Page

Content pages are the meat of websites and are almost always the reason visitors come to a site. Ideal content pages should be very specific to a given topic—usually a product or an object—and be hyper-relevant.
The content of a page is what makes it worthy of a search result position.
It is what the user came to see and is thus extremely important to the search engines. As such, it is important to create good content. So what is good content? From an SEO perspective, all good content has two attributes. Good content must supply a demand and must be linkable.

Using alt text on your images can make for a better user experience, but it may also help earn you both explicit and implicit SEO benefits.

While search engine image recognition technology has vastly improved over the years, search crawlers still can't "see" the images on a website page like we can, so it's not wise to leave the interpretation solely in their hands.
